This semester, I started Comm 321 three weeks late. Thus, I was already 9 blogs behind the rest of the class. I attempted to catch up by posting on the classroom blog. Later, I was informed that we would not be recieving credit for the classroom blog. Instead, we would only be graded on our personal blogs. Now, I was more behind than ever. Needless to say, I would have to work overtime. However, about a month and a half later, I am writing my last blog. Although it has been pretty interesting over last few months. I can't say I will miss blogging. During the semester, I felt that I was only posting blogs for my own health- nobody else was reading them. It started to become boring. Although I tried to create blogs with substance, I felt that it didn't really matter. Who was reading them? They were very time consuming with no substantial payoff or benefit. It was an intersesting experience, but blogs just aren't my cup of tea. This concludes "Just my Thoughts." I'm out!!!jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-68171995503416373042007-04-26T11:52:00.000-07:002007-04-26T12:01:29.163-07:00Red Hot Chili PeppersThey've been in the game for 15 years now, and they're still making hits. However, I remembered Napoleon mentioning the Liger as his favorite animal. Only he referened the Liger as being bread for its majestical powers. Thus, I thought that the animal was a fictional creature, and I just laughed it off. However, I kept thinking about the Liger for some reason. I thought, what if it was real, how did it look, etc. So I decided to do some research. Once I typed in "Liger" in google pictures, a massive beast appeared- just as real as you and me. Man successfully bread lions and tigers. Only the product of these animals was bigger than the both of them. They say that when the male is a lion and the female is a tiger the result will be a liger- an enormous creature. However, when the male is tiger and the female is lion the result will be caled a "tigon". Tigons are rather small.

jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-55903925342117221832007-04-25T21:16:00.000-07:002007-04-25T21:24:37.172-07:00Spiderman 3All the other Spider Man man movies were kinda dissapointing. It seems that Scary Spice and Eddie Murphy had a baby. Additionally eddie murphy is suppose to be dating Baby faces ex-wife. In other news, Micheal Jordan settled with his wife for 226 million dollars- a whopper of an amount. Also, his wife was seen dating a 20-somethin-year-old investment banker. I don't even search for entertainment gossip, but that's just wierd.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-90111924284077404392007-04-24T21:00:00.000-07:002007-04-24T21:11:52.528-07:00Akon In TroubleAkon recently got kicked off of Gwen Steffani's tour. This is because Akon was in Trindad doing a tour of his own when he bagan to dance provocatively with a 15 year old girl. The prime minister is currently pressing charges against Akon for lude and indecent acts.

jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-80618217483886967402007-04-22T01:47:00.000-07:002007-04-22T01:56:05.331-07:00The Many PossibilitiesAs humans, we are aided by the ability to reason and formulate abstract ideas. Also, longer maturation periods, as seen in the human species, replace instinct with learned behavior. Because of this, humans are able to recreate what is natural and genetic to fit a standard of mental expressions. Abstract thought and the ability to reason promotes the idea that sex is not limited to people of the opposite gender. Rather, it becomes an expression of emotional attachments and physical attraction. Consequently, instinct (that which is normal/natural) is substituted by abstract thought. In this light, sexual behavior can also be learned and adopted. Accordingly, the increased portrayal of homosexual acts and relationships in the media may influence those intrinsically “straight” to learn and adopt homosexuality as their future sexual orientation- not to say that there is anything wrong with homosexuality.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-22020803893921897482007-04-22T01:42:00.000-07:002007-04-22T01:45:30.658-07:00Dr. Kevorkian's Delima:Should people be forced to stay alive? No. In fact, certain situations make sustaining a person’s life cruel and inhumane. There is a point where life is no longer a reward or a pleasure; it becomes a punishment and is painful. When do we draw the line? There is no single, objectively correct answer, which has application to everyone as to when, if at all, life becomes a burden and unwanted. But that simply points up the importance of individuals being able to decide autonomously for themselves whether their own lives retain sufficient quality and dignity. In making such decisions, the patient must decide for himself as the primary beneficiary of life or death, which option has the greatest return in relieving themselves of pain and suffering. Given that a critically ill person is typically in a severely compromised and debilitated state it is, other things being equal, the patient’s judgment of whether continued life is a benefit that must carry the greatest weight, provided always that the patient is competent.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-55698926357168118152007-04-22T01:39:00.000-07:002007-04-22T01:40:36.557-07:00Is This a Theory?Arguing from a biological approach, the theory of natural selection eliminates all characteristics that do not allow a species to sustain its existence. If the trait of homosexuality is in fact inherited through our genetic makeup, it does not support the natural process of reproduction, which states, only a man and a woman are able to procreate. Consequently, this trait would be eliminated in the genes of humans over time. Moreover, the genetic trait of homosexuality would not become exponentially more common; it would gradually be eliminated, making homosexuals less prevalent in today’s society. In this light, homosexuality cannot be inherited through our genetic makeup according to the theory of natural selection; they are not fit to survive/ sustain their existence. If we are to reject the premise of homosexuality being an inborn quality, then we must resort to the application of the learning principle- homosexuality is the result of socialization.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-65907845296040819832007-04-22T01:22:00.000-07:002007-04-22T01:30:21.749-07:00UFC 70 UpdateUFC 70 update- Gabriel Gonzaga KO's Mirco Cro Cop. I put my coat, my backpack and other belongings in my locker. After I was finished changing for my workout, I locked my locker. However, I suppose the lock did not close all the way. Instead, I returned to my locker to find that all of my items were missing. I went to the front desk to see if they had taken my belongings for safety reasons. They did not. I ran around campus for about an hour looking for the bastard that stole my things. He got away with 40 bucks, my pda, two of my books, my folder (containing all my notes), my jacket, and my car and house keys. I would have given anything just to have caught that bitch looking through my stuff. Now, I have to repurchase my books and try to get some notes from my freinds before finals. I couldn't even get into my apartment or car that night. This guy better hope I don't find out who he is...jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-28734625538738837212007-04-21T02:21:00.000-07:002007-04-21T02:28:50.686-07:00V TechYoutube disabled the option to embed this video- probably for the best. This video shows the killer of the V Tech massacre ranting on about how he was oppressed, and was left with no other option but to kill. He even compares himself to Jesus Christ in the video, as though he was burdened to die for our sins. He aims his comments at the teachers and students that were well off- those who had pension plans, mercedes benz, and gold necklaces. This video really takes you inside the sick, twisted, demented mind of a murderer. The fact that such horrific acts could be premeditated for several weeks makes me sick. The result of learning from and adapting to experiences shapes our personalities, life choices, and ultimately fate (if you believe in that sort of thing). Moreover, the construct of who we are (our personalities) is not static; we are continuously learning who we are and who we will become. The culmination of much learning from and responding to experiences brings us to where we become ourselves. Once you change your face (extensively)through plastic surgery, you change “you.” More directly, such drastic changes dramatically change your experiences. People will undoubtedly react to you differently, and a wave of new, different experiences will invade and redefine what was being created, to create someone unfamiliar. What would have happened- doesn’t; what you should have learned- you won’t; what you would have valued- you don’t. If you can no longer learn the things “you” would have, you can’t be the person you were intended to be. In essence, people who experience two mutually exclusive life experiences through participating in plastic surgery become hybrids of sort. They are now the construct of half real experiences and half synthetic experiences. “Hooray!” for the all powerful plastic surgeon then- changing the lives of many- however contemptuous it may be.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-29325177456748380692007-04-21T01:52:00.000-07:002007-04-21T01:53:41.872-07:00UFC 70Another must see fight. The media’s portrait of prototypic beauty may have some children and even adults associate beautiful with a single character on a sitcom, actress on a movie, or model in a Ralph Lauren add. Such impeded views and perceptions of beauty mirror what is developing psychologically within the individuals who think it. To America’s daughter: if one particular actress or model is conditioned to reappear in her mind whenever she attempts to grasp the arbitrary, individualistic characteristics of beauty, she is never beautiful according to her own perception. Thus, the uniqueness of idiosyncratic beauty is lost because she has to see herself as the “model” in order to recognize herself as beautiful. It is doubtful that she could ever familiarize herself with her own unique body parts and features as being beautiful; she is conditioned to recognize this model as the only definition of attractiveness. It follows that she could begin to define herself in the image of the beautiful. Personally, I know three young woman under the age of 20 who might say, “plastic surgery offered me a solution to my problem; it’s quick and easy too. Thank you plastic surgery.”jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-5661621295846902112007-04-21T01:31:00.000-07:002007-04-21T01:36:16.615-07:00Car AdvertisementIn class, we mentioned that automotive companies were better submerged in Internet advertisement. To a certain exent, I agree. However, Imus's actions reflect his own view points. It cannot be blamed on Hip Hop. Hip Hop and Imus are two independent events. Although Hip Hop needs to be reformed, such messages only fuel sterotypes.

jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-55631764543586688922007-04-17T18:26:00.000-07:002007-04-17T18:32:45.653-07:00Oprah ForumToday, Oprah had part II concerning the Don Imus controversy. Imus linked his comment to the state of the Black community. He claimed that Hip Hop artists and Blacks in general refer to women in a derrogatory mannner. This is a clip from the show.

jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-51832713385783499842007-04-13T22:25:00.000-07:002007-04-13T22:54:21.073-07:00Born With Two HeadsI watched a TLC documentary entitled "Born With Two Heads." In this documentary, a young girl was born with two heads. The doctors explained that the mom was suppose to have twins. However, one of the eggs that had split (making them twins) decided to split a second time (giving her triplets). However, if the eggs split, they are suppose to split before ten days of conception. Instead the egg split for a third time after the ten days. This did not allow the egg to split fully. Thus the eggs grew as a combined cell. The strongest child was supplying blood to both herself and her twin. Only, she could not pump enough blood to the "parasitic embryo." Consequently, the parasitic embryo was only able to develop a head. They called this a "parasitic head." It was interesting because this parasitic head wasn't your average parasite. It was a fully developed, functioning head. It just lacked a body. The head even had its own personality. When the host twin was sleeping, the parasitic head would be crying or sucking on a pasaphire. It was amazing- unlike anything I had ever seen before. Sadly, in order to save the child that could sustain its own existance, the parasitic head was cut off and left to die.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-6279922464012051052007-04-13T01:17:00.000-07:002007-04-13T01:48:35.738-07:00Ignorance Can KillWow!!!... I just watched the remainder of "The Age of AIDS" documentary; it is amazing. It is suprising to find that so few people still do not understand the affects of the virus. In the documentary, reporters travel to India- a nation that finds sexual activity to very private and sacred. However, they suffered an infection rate of nearly 5 million. Additionally, the documentary revealed that the main threat of new infections came from Indian truck drivers and commercial sex workers. Moreover, the truck drivers would find prostitution as their only outlet for recreation. In fact, truckdrivers would often have sex with other male truck drivers when females were absent. When help came to educate the truck drivers of their risky behaviors concerning homosexual interaction, one of the drivers looked devistated. He was scared that he contracted the didease- he repeatedly said,"they never told me, nobody told me." Another very emotional scene was aired with the conclusion of the documentary. A little African girl just got tested for the virus; she was HIV positive. The doctor asked the little girl if she had any questions. Not understanding the implications of the disease, the little girl whispered in the doctor's ear, "Why am I positive?" The little girl was still smiling when she recieved the results. It's tragic.jachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251511307641386531.post-49001336697783184802007-04-12T23:32:00.000-07:002007-04-12T23:35:53.202-07:00The age of AIDSThis video was recently shown in one of my classes. The documentary is called: "The Age of AIDS." It has four different parts, for a total of 4 hours of footage- from beginning to end. I would recomemend everyone to view this documentary. The following is the link to the introduction- a brief history of the virus.

http://media.pbs.org/asxgen/general/windows/media4/frontline/2412/windows/bch1_hi.wmv.asxjachildrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18350409193864426365noreply@blogger.com0
